Marionettes

Acrylic on canvas

12k white gold leaves

107 x 190 cm

The work resembles an old shabby poster and as if throws us back into the "Belle Epoque", in the days of the "Russian seasons ”S. Diaghilev.

The figure with a red cheek slightly resembles the work of Picasso due to an unnatural turn of the head. Red spot - either the blush on Pierrot's cheek or the bloody tear that creates a parallel with M. Fokin's ballet "Petrushka", whence it follows the name "Marionettes".

Unfortunately, dancers (and indeed many people) remain puppets your entire career, if not your life. This canvas makes you remember the desire for freedom, which is the main life principle of the author.
